it was few months ago at PERKEB when isabel asked me if i'm interested in joining debate competition or not. i was thinking why don't i give it a try since i never try before. i nodded my head and that's when i started my debating journey.
i still remember vividly my first training in kkm's cafe. all of us were supposed to give a small speech on legalising prostitution. even that few mins of talking makes me shiver. my first debate, i didn't even finish 3 mins and we were required to speak at least 7 mins. i joined the VC cup and it was a sweet memory although it was not easy. thanks to great seniors like darryl, jeslyn, sharma etc.
ROYALS was a whole new different experience altogether. it's a debate competition among public university. after going through selections and trainings, my team mates for Royals is the same as VC cup. first impression of IIU - i can't believe their kolej is so IKEA-ish! don't feel like going back to UKM dy. haha..
anyway, to cut the story short, we managed to enter semi finals. it was so unexpected! we got our first RM1000 cheque $_$ imagine the joy that we all had when we know our seniors manage to broke into finals!
Debating is not just about winning the trophy. it's about knowing new friends from other uni, seeing new things and experiencing something unexpected. i'm really proud that even though we don't have trainers to train us, like other unis do, we have our faithful seniors who will always come back to creme us up. not only do they train us, they bought us food, drove us ard, and most of all entertained us with all their jokes and bimbo-ness. haha..
thank God for bringing me thus far, and He was the one who helped me throughout Royals and NHSD. :)
btw, jus came bk from NHSD. didn't break but was a wonderful experience too! pretty worn out. i love my house, super christmas mood dy!!
