Emo Eater

Am I an Emotional eater?

You can discover if you’re an emotional eater by asking yourself a few questions.

There are a number of triggers that can cause us to develop emotional eating patterns. Many of these can be deep rooted and often developed from an early age. We all eat for different reasons, and in today’s society, hunger is probably one of the least common of all reasons. Many of us have triggers that cause us to eat, some of these are:

Food smells nice
Looks tempting
Craving favorite food
Eating is regulated by time, lunchtime, etc
Irritability
Stress
Boredom
Feeling lonely
Other people eating at same time, family, friends party, etc
The list above reveals triggers that may become emotionally related in some way. The trick is to understand and recognize the trigger and work at dealing with the emotion behind it, rather than turning to food to satisfy the emotion.
Questions to test if you’re an emotional eater
1. Do you regularly eat when you’re not hungry? yes! duh! who doesn't?
2. Do you eat large portions and always finish the lot? of cos! it's a waste if u don't.
3. Do you feel like eating when you’re lonely, stressed or irritable? food is my company!
4. Do you crave your favorite food often, and go out your way to get them? YEA MAN!
5. Do you always eat food that looks or smells nice, even if it’s not time to eat? YES!!!
6. Do you feel guilty and depressed after eating a big meal? YESSSSS!!!!!!!!!

Answering YES to more than one of the above questions may mean your eating patterns are likely to be driven by emotions rather than hunger. AND I SAID YES TO ALL OF THEM!!!
If you believe you’re an emotional eater, then try to assess what thoughts you have whilst eating. This can be done by completing a food diary and recording your emotions and how you feel when you eat. Eventually, you may start to see a pattern that seems to trigger your eating habits, at which point you’ll be more prepared to deal with the cause of overeating. It may be best to seek professional help if you’re an emotional eater, rather than starting a new diet plan to lose weight.

A tip would be to learn to eat regularly judged by hunger and not by the clock or any emotional triggers!
OHHHHH NOOOO!!! CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME TO GET RID OF THIS!!???
I am very emotional about this right now!! I need food to counsel me xp

What are you imagining now?

Hello, it's me Sitting in a newly organized room with a eucalyptus aroma saturating the room gives me a kind of serenity in the midst of this chaotic world. I haven't been writing for ages and I thought perhaps I could start again since writing (or blogging) does organize my thoughts. I am also surprised that I could still log in to my dusty blog and the fact that it still sort-of exists. I read a book on "The New Species" by Greg Violi and this gave me a new perspective on my identity and my struggle with the old vs new self. Did you know that our imaginations and thoughts are very powerful - making or breaking us, spurring us towards God or against God, a catalyst of our emotions and feelings? The best way to describe God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit can be this. A thought birthed in God, our Father, and it is spoken by the Word himself, Jesus, and the Spirit executes it. In creating the world, all these thoughts and imaginations of how it will turn out to...

My first in 2014

Two years have passed since my last blog entry. How fast time flies. I decided to change the blog layout just to give a gist of freshness to it. Many things have changed since 2012 - most of all, myself. I guess two years of working (or slightly more) opened up my worldview and definitely altered some perspective of life. Most of all, God has done so many things in my life! In life, nothing is constant but His faithfulness remains through it all. I am excited to see what lies ahead of me - His Glory and Kingdom. (Pardon my vague updates, I am still trying to figure out how to privatize my blog so that I could only allow personal access to this. Till then, see you next round soon, hopefully)
