It is really weird not having you around anymore.
I miss the days when I come home with you welcoming me by the gate. Rain or shine, sick or healthy you will be there with your wagging tail and bright eyes. When I come home past midnight, I am never afraid even though everyone says I could even get abducted in front of my house. Because I know you are here and you are watching over me. Of course your bark is veryy loud!
I also miss the days when I say BYE MERCY before I leave home. After I make a u-turn and drive past, I will look into the house and wave at you. You will be looking me with those eyes that speak - I am waiting for you to come back! Or you will be so smart to run out of the house and I had to shout and chase you to come home. You know what? You always leave home at the wrong time - when I am going out. Worst part is, you never listen to me! -.-
But it is funny that when we purposely lock you out of the house as punishment, you know who to find and lure them into getting what you want! You bark in front of my neighbour's house and ask them to open the door for you.
Then there will be days where I buy good food back home like KFC. Oh my days. Your bark, your lap-scratching jumps and those pitiful and hungry eyes.! Most of the time you wooed me over into giving you some of my food. You even wooed dad over to give you KFC or food when you were very sick! Of course, I remember how you stole the WHOLE BOX OF CHOCOLATE underneath my Christmas tree on a Christmas party. It was my present, my chocolate (OK I didn't even know it was chocolate since it was wrapped! But how did YOU know?). After the whole party, I felt awkward that you were so quiet. Little did I know you were savouring the whole box of chocolate in your favourite spot throughout the party night! How to scold you lar?
I always think you are very elegant especially when you sit up straight up the poise. And you are very racist too! I thought dogs can only see black and white? But you can differentiate Malays, Indians, Chinese and others. In Chinese proverbs, we say "Gou yan kan ren di", you are a classic living example of it! You are unfriendly to strangers but you have definitely captured many hearts especially children's heart.
You know what touched me the most but sadly I wasn't there to witness it? It was 2 minutes before your death. With every strength left within you, you stood up and walked into the house. Looked around, walked into my parent's arm and with tears in your eyes, you left us peacefully. You could have just stayed there but you didn't. That spoke volume of your love and dedication.
There are just so much to say about you, so much to remember. You are such wonderful, loyal and faithful dog. I miss your bark. I miss your presence. You are really part of my family. 14 long years, it was like I know every part of you. Every movement that you make, the eyes, those lovely eyes, I could almost understand you. Simply amazing.
Thanks for listening to my vents and cries. Although you can't speak, you were the best listener. I could get what you say through your eyes. I still miss those pair of eyes of yours.
You know what you've taught me from this? Really treasure every moment with the people you love around you. Don't neglect and waste even a single moment. I am thankful we had good time for the past one month.
OH yeah! Tell you a secret. Dad cried so badly! WOW I've never ever seen him cried soooo badly before! Even mum was shocked. So you can imagine how you have been in our family. I know you are smirking there now. And you know what Mercy? Many people came to pay their last respect to you! Although you are just a dog but you are different. People miss you as well!
Du fehlst mir so viel =)
